Join Us for our Annual “Bunny Run” to Huffman Homes for the Youth. What started out as a simple donation to help out a Delaware Kohls Department store by donating 11 cases of leftover stuffed bunnies, has spanned into an annual event that swells your eyes and feeds your soul.
Huffman Homes for the Youth is a behavioral health provider offering services to our youth for over a century. As an orphanage, they provided homes for over 50 years for the young offering a stable place for them to learn and grow helping out on the dairy farm and harvesting fields in an environment of sharing and responsibilities.
As the times changed, so did Huffman Homes, moving their services from an orphanage to helping the troubled youth who have been processed through our court systems a place to find themselves in society. The youth would be a part of the local educational systems while learning a vocation on site providing them a skill to use in society.
Currently Huffman Homes serves emotionally and behaviorally troubled youths providing psychiatric care, treatment and education for youths and their families. Huffman Homes still provides for emergency shelter and transitional living for the youth as well as outpatient Psychiatric Services.
This is just a tip of the iceberg when it comes to the value that Huffman Homes quietly provides and it is with our hope, that by offering a small token, that the children of Huffman Homes know that people do care.
